On November 16, Comrade Jia Qinglin, former chairman of the CPPCC, investigated Purple Mountain Observatory.

Jia Qinglin visited the science exhibition of astronomical telescopes, ancient astronomical instruments and other antiques displayed in the observatory. He was greatly interested with the current development and research overview of the Purple Mountain Observatory, and spoke favorably of the research progress of the observatory.

Former chairman of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, Zhang Lianzhen, and other leaders of Jiangsu Province Jiang Dingzhi, Xu Jinrong and Shen Jian also participated in the investigation.
