Science and technology cooperation department takes the responsibility of organization and coordination of CAS-Provincial cooperation, which provides service for the provinces of Jiangsu and Jiangxi to cooperate with CAS. After years of development, it has quite adapted to the layout and requirement of regional economic development. By the end of 2011, Nanjing branch has signed comprehensive agreements of science & technology cooperation with 13 provincial cities of Jiangsu, covering all cities and counties in Jiangsu and nearly all research institutes of CAS. S&T Service Network of CAS, especially the five industrialization platforms of Suzhou, Yangzhou, Taizhou, Changzhou, Nanjing have been constructed by CAS and local governments, which have gathered over 3000 innovation personnel, hatched more than 300 hi-tech enterprises, and acquired over 120 billion yuan technology transfer income in 2017.

Science and technology cooperation department carried out constructions of regional innovation cluster planning, 135 planning and Jiangxi academy of sciences with Jiangxi province, etc. It achieved planning of “Yangtze River Delta innovation and transformation cluster” and “Huang-Huai-Hai green modern agriculture cluster” respectively with the Shanghai branch and Hefei substance academy together. It completed planning of “Henan high yield and high efficiency for modern agriculture demonstration” and “Nano-technology innovation and transformation cluster”.

Science and technology cooperation department also created plans of “CAS-Provincial cooperation 147 planning for Jiangsu Province” and “CAS-Provincial cooperation 135 planning for Jiangxi Province”, according to which, Jiangsu Province will focus on Nano-technology, Networking R&D, IGCC cogeneration key technology and high-end manufacturing industry, and Jiangxi Province will focus on industrialization of printing electronic, green agricultural products and high-end ceramics.
