On Oct 18th, Jiangsu-CAS Intelligent Science and Technology Institute established jointly by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Jiangsu provincial government was founded. in Changzhou, Jiangsu. Erwei Shi, vice president of CAS and Nanping Xu, vice chairman of people's political consultative conference and head of department of science and technology of Jiangsu province signed an agreement of joint construction of the institute.
The institute is located in Changzhou science and education town, committed itself to be National innovative base of robot and intelligent equipment industry. Changzhou would offer full support to the development of the institute and strive to build it to be an important base of intelligent equipment technology and system integration. As the provincewith the earliest starting in CAS-province cooperation， Jiangsu gathered the largest number of CAS talents and has obtained the most fruitful achievement in industry-university-research cooperation.
Erwei Shi expressed his expectation that institute would further accelerate innovations in the reform of system and mechanism and enhance core competitiveness in the field of intelligent science and technology to radiate and drive local social and economic development.
