On the morning of Oct. 11, Hou Jianguo, President of The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) visited Nanjing Branch and had in-depth discussions of fusion of science and education in running schools with President of Nanjing Branch Zhou Jianmin and Party Secretary Zhu Huaicheng. Vice President of USTC Zhang Shulin and Office Director Liu Tianzhuo and other joined the discussion. 

President Zhou Jianmin briefly introduced the basic situation of each institute of Nanjing Branch to President Hou Jianguo. Zhang Junhua, Director of Personnel and Education of Nanjing Branch, introduced graduate education of Nanjing Branch. Later, it was discussed on fusion of science and education and collaborative education and so on. In the background of CAS fusion of science and education strategic layout it was determined that giving full play to the advantages of both, using the education platform of USTC, integration of related disciplines and research platform of each institute of Nanjing Branch to achieve substantive integration of both. Start from education and promote scientific research and CAS and local cooperation.
