On August 13th, the forum about innovation driven strategy of Jiangsu during the 13th national five-year was held. Zhou Jianmin, president of Nanjing branch of CAS, made a speech entitled"oriented by major issues and needs, promoted by science and technology innovation and integration". 

He said that the Nanjing branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences actively supported and participated in innovation-driven development strategy of Jiangsu province, and has signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Jiangsu Province in the twelfth five year period. By the end of 2014, the projects successfully transformed and industrialized have amounted to 1500, and the sales revenue arrived 935 billion yuan, which is expected to achieve economic benefits of 1000 billion yuan during the "Twelfth Five Year" period. 

Zhou Jianmin suggested that a new round of comprehensive strategic cooperation be started as soon as possible between Nanjing branch and Jiangsu province, and “thirteen Five-year Plan” be formulated jointly. Also, science and technology service network (STS) center in Jiangsu should be set up.
