On September 10, Nanjing branch held the Science Communication Conference. Yang Guishan, vice president of Nanjing branch, attended the meeting. Xu Yanlong, director of the general office of Bureau of Science Communication Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited to attend the meeting and make a report. 

Xu Yanlong made a speech entitled "progress of science communication work and the next step ".he reviewed the main achievements and development trend of science communication of the past two years of CAS. He also discussed with the participants on how to improve the work efficiency and make better the science communication work. 

Yang Guishan pointed out that the importance of scientific communication should be emphasized, and the institutes should support scientific communication from talent, capital, policy and other aspects. He suggested the proportion of scientific communication work be raised in the evaluation mechanism. He suggested that skill training should be strengthened, and the professional quality of scientific communication team be improved. He also hoped that institutes of Nanjing branch should pay attention to social hot issues, and enhance the image of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
