On October 17, the sixth sports meeting of Chinese Academy of Sciences was successfully held in Beijing. Nearly 4000 staff and graduate students participated.

Party secretary of Nanjing branch Zhu Huai Cheng, was selected as team leader, led 32 athletes ofNanjing branch participated in the competition. After fierce competition, Yang Zeng (from Nanjing Institute of Geology and Paleontology) of Nanjing branch representative team won the champion in the 1500 meters, the Lei Shijun (from Purple Mountain Observatory) won the champion in the 800 meters, Zhou Rui (from Nanjing branch) won the second place in the 800 meters and fourth place in 100 meters, Wang Bin (from Nanjing Institute of Soil Science) won the champion in men's rope skipping, Li Ling (from Nanjing Institute of Geology and Paleontology) won the sixth place in women's 1500 meters.
