On march 2nd, Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology signed a framework cooperation agreement with Tianjin Municipal Water Affairs Bureau.

Yuqiao reservoir is an important source of water of Tianjin City, and has made an important contribution for many years to ensure the economic stability and social development of Tianjin. In recent years, due to the deterioration of water quality in the upper reaches, the water quality and water ecological environment of Yuqiao reservoir has changed significantly, which seriously threaten the safety of water supply in Tianjin city.

 According to the agreement, in order to strengthen the protection of Luan River water quality, ensure safety of water supply in Tianjin, Tianjin Municipal Water Affairs Bureau and Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology will conduct a full range close cooperation, and carry out the water quality management and protection of Yuqiao reservoir. the main task in the near future includes emergency response of IWT algae outbreak, water environment assessment, water quality improvement and ecological restoration work.
