From June 21 to 22, the Deputy Secretary and Vice President of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liu Weiping, visited Nanjing branch, Nanjing Institute of Geology and Paleontology, Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, and Purple Mountain Observatory. He listened the report of basic situation and research progress of these units, especially the planning work of “China‘s 13th plan of five - year national development”. Also, he discussed with major principal of these units about the implementation of the spirit of the National Conference on science and technology innovation, how to deepen the reform of talent development system and the situation of party building studies. 

Liu Weiping affirmed the implementation of "Three facing" and "Four first” of Nanjing branch on national economic and social development service. He said that Nanjing Branch and CAS institutes should thoroughly implement the spirit of the National Conference on science and technology innovation. Facing the fierce domestic and international talent competition and challenge, we should actively and creatively introduce some measure according with the spirit of this conference. More precise measures should be taken to attract and gather talents. CAS willwill fully listen to suggestions of the branch and research institutes, and vigorously promote the personnel management system reform and innovation, make practical policies to fully stimulate the scientific research personnel innovation, play more important role in China’s construction of Science and technology.
