Form May 28 to 29, China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) organized a specialist review group to implement the field supervision and review on the State Key Laboratory of Lake and Science and Environment of Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology of Chinese Academy of Sciences according to accreditation criteria including CNAS-CL01: 2006 “Accreditation Criteria for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratory”, CNAS-CL10: 2006 “The Application Description of Accreditation Criteria for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratory in Chemical Testing” and “Accreditation Criteria for Laboratory Qualification”.    

Shen Ji, director of the laboratory, warmly welcomed review specialists. During the review period, the specialist group listened to the report on the laboratory work, visited the laboratory on-site and reviewed all technical capabilities that the laboratory applied for accreditation and all factors of the laboratory accreditation criteria requirements by looking up relevant materials, making use of capability verification results , field tests, field demonstration, field questioning, and verifying instruments and equipment. Categories of products reviewed by the review group in this field are sediments, soil and water. The total number of items for the testing is 49. Among the tests, water sample test for chemical elements Ti, As and the analysis and test of C, N, Fe, Mn in sediments and soil are made by random sample examination, which all pass the examination at one try. The Key Laboratory of Lake Sediments and Environment of Chinese Academy of Science, which State Key Laboratory of Lake and Science and Environment relies on, has amended the documentation management system for several times and changed 4 versions and accepted several re-assessment and supervision assessment of CNAS in the 12 years since it obtained the laboratory accreditation from CNAS. Through this field review, the specialist group reached an agreement that the current management system of State Key Laboratory of Lake and Science and Environment is effective and can be improved furthermore. The laboratory will keep following the accreditation criteria and relevant rules, correctly using accreditation signs and actively taking part in all activities organized by CNAS in the future.
