On October 25, Xu Nanping, Vice Minister of Science and Technology Department, visited the Nanjing soil institute of CAS.

First of all, Shen Renfang, director of Nanjing soil institute, introduced its basic situation, major scientific and technological achievements during the"12th Five-Year" and "13th Five-Year" development planning. Researcher Zhang Jiabao reported on the farmland fertility improvement and promotion for years.

Xu Nanping put forward guiding opinions on how to further do a good job in agricultural science and technology innovation after listening to the report. Xu Nanping said that Nanjing soil institute has a good reputation at home and abroad in the field of soil science research and makes an important contribution to the sustainable development of agriculture. At present, the modern agriculture in China is still faced with the problems of low efficiency, low transformation of agricultural science and technology, unclear land use benefit of the main innovation of agricultural science and technology. The country will further improve the contribution rate of agricultural science and technology through the implementation of important strategic measures and promote the development of agricultural transformation. Nanjing soil should play an important role for the improvement field.

During the investigation, Xu Nanping also visited the Nanjing soil related research platform and soil specimen museum.
