On May 25th, Nanjing Branch CAS held a conference on education. The leaders, managers and cadres of institute CAS in Jiangsu who responsible to education, total 25, attended the meeting. Prof. Yang Guishan, vice president of the Branch, presided over the meeting.

President Yang firstly reviewed the education work of the Nanjing Branch system in last year. In 2016 Nanjing Branch furthered promotion of the integration of science and education. University of Science and Technology of China and relevant institutes established departments of Nano, Biomedical Engineering and astronomy. Nanjing Branch, USTC and Hefei Institute of Metal jointly organized graduate tutor seminar. Nanjing Branch held graduate graduation ceremony and graduate school opening ceremony. Nanjing Branch had achieved good results in the graduate education, 13 doctoral students and 9 graduate students won the national scholarship, 6 students won the CAS President scholarship, 3 doctoral students won CAS Excellent Doctoral Dissertation, 1 doctoral students and 2 graduate students won Jiangsu Province Excellent Doctoral Dissertation and Excellent Master Dissertation. In continuing education works, Nanjing Institute of Geology and Paleontology won the number one of available upload courseware in CAS. Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics & Technology ranked sixth in CAS for carrying out continuing education seminars. Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology was located tenth in CAS Top 10 for the continuing education hours per capita and total hours.

The meeting selected 22 graduate students as recipients for Nanjing Branch of Wu Yisun scholarship by secret ballot and recommended 6 doctoral dissertations and 2 master's thesis submitted to the Jiangsu Province as Excellent Doctoral Dissertation and Excellent Master Thesis.
