Associate professor Yin Hongbin, from State Key Laboratory of Lake Science and Environment, Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, does a lot of research mainly on the lake geological engineering materials research and application, and has made some achievements. The main achievements include: (1) Study on phosphorus removal in constructed wetlands; constructed wetland is an effective means to intercept phosphorus from exogenous lake, and plant growth and interception and fixation of substrate play an important role. (2) Preparation of arsenic purifying materials. (3)Analysis of phosphorus inactivation agents in sediments of shallow lakes.

The above study were supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Technology Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China during the “12th Five-Year Plan” and the Jiangsu Social Development Plan. The results were published in Water Research, Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Cleaner Production and Science of the total Environment.
