On November 28, 2017, the final result of the election of academicians was announced. In 2017, a total of 61 professors were elected as academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). In Jiangsu Province, a total of three experts were elected as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, namely Prof. Guo Zijian from Nanjing University, Prof. Rui Xiaoting from Nanjing University of Science and Technology and Prof. Guo Wanlin from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Meanwhile, in 2017, 67 professors were elected as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). In Jiangsu Province, a total of two experts were elected as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, namely Prof. Chen Jian from Jiangnan University and Prof. Jiang Jianchun from the Institute of Chemical Industry of Forest Products, Chinese Academy of Forestry.

Currently, the total number of the academicians of both CAS and CAE in Jiangsu Province has reached 100.
