On May 14, the 5th advisory committee meeting of CAS academicians in Jiangsu was successfully held at Nanjing Branch of CAS. Deputy governor of Jiangsu Province MA Qiulin, President of Nanjing Branch YANG Guishan, Vice President ZHU Huaicheng, and 21 CAS academicians from universities and institutes in Jiangsu attended the meeting.
MA Qiulin, on behalf of the local government, expressed his warm congratulations to the elected CAS academicians of the advisory committee. He hoped that the CAS academicians would focus on the key issues to conduct scientific and technological consultation, and make more contributions to the economic and social development of Jiangsu.
YANG Guishan, on behalf of CAS, expressed his thanks to the local government for its continuous support to the advisory committee. He then briefly introduced the important role played by the advisory committee, as well as the effective cooperation between CAS and Jiangsu.
Deputy chairman of the 4th advisory committee RONG Jiayu from NIGPAS summarized the work of the committee of the past seven years.
Chairman of the 5th advisory committee XING Dingyu from Nanjing University introduced the consultive tasks of the committee, as well as the work plan for the next five years.
