Recently, the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) has released a list of new academicians in 2019. Prof. ZHANG Jiabao from Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISSCAS) was on the list. He has long been committed to the research of soil water cycle, soil information collection and soil fertility increasing.

Prof. ZHANG Jiabao has won four National Science and Technology Progress Awards (one first prize and three second prizes). He is now the chairman of Soil Engineering and Technology Committee, International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS).
