Recently, the S&T Cooperation Office and Technology Transfer Office of Nanjing Branch won CAS S&T Promotion and Development Prize 2019. The joint team of the two offices has centered on the main scientific and technological needs of Jiangsu and Jiangxi Province. They implement the responsibilities of “Pioneer Action Plan” given by CAS, and carry out S&T cooperation between CAS institutes and local governments. Remarkable achievements have been made and valuable experiences accumulated in constructing regional innovation highland, significant technology transferring, etc. Meanwhile, a strong team of S&T cooperation and technology transfer has been built, which has effectively enhanced the innovation capacity of Jiangsu and Jiangxi Province and promoted the scientific influence and status of CAS in the two provinces.
They have promoted the cooperation between CAS and Jiangsu to form an innovation network with “2 institutes +2 research centers +5 platforms”, together with more than 120 institute branches and more than 6,000 CAS talents. In 2018, there were more than 1600 cooperation projects, creating annual sales of more than 130 billion yuan, which ranked first among all the provinces for many years, and accounted for nearly one third of the total amount for the past five years.
Meanwhile, they have promoted the co-construction of S&T platforms between CAS and Jiangxi with a focus on the major strategic needs of Jiangxi. In November 2018, Jiangxi Industrial Technology Innovation and Breeding Center was officially launched, which was the first major platform for S&T transformation established by CAS in Jiangxi. A special fund of 50 million yuan per year has been set up for the center. In March 2019, CAS and Jiangxi signed an agreement on jointly promoting the construction of mega-science facilities of Chinese medicine and jointly building the Lushan Botanical Garden. In the past two years, a number of cooperation projects have been listed in the government work report of Jiangxi.
