On October 15 2014a line of 7 people from NIAOT left for National Astronomical Observatory of Thailand (TNO) to install the Middle Resolution fiber-fed Echelle Spectrograph (MRES) of the Thai National Telescope (TNT) on site.

It took two weeks to finish testing and adjusting of opticalmechanicalelectronic systems for MRES as well as combined adjusting with the Thai National Telescope (TNT).

After thencomprehensive training was given to comprehensive trainingNIAOT and TNO conducted trial observation and performance test together.

MRES provides in the 390nm-880nm spectral range a resolving power of 15,000 with a 1.4″slitwhich peak efficiency better than 30%.

A trial observation was conducted for 13.8 magnitude of celestial bodies (USNOA2-1200-00955) in V band with result of signal-to-noise ratio (one hour exposure ) better than 100.
