Stanley Finney, Chair of International Commission on Stratigraphy, visit NIGPAS----Nanjing Branch of The Chinese Academy of Sciences

On July 10, 2012, Professor Stanley Finney, Chair of International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS), paid a special visit to Nanjing Institute of Geology and Paleontology Chinese Academy of Sciences (NIGPAS) . A special group disscusion on ICS work was made among the current and past officers and voting members of ICS subcommissions from NIGPAS, which has up to 17 Chairs, Vice Chairs, Secretaries and Voting Members of ICS and Subcommissions.

During the visit, a seminar on “International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS) and GSSPs” was given by Prof. Finney, enabled the researchers and graduated students to keep up with the latest development in the international Stratigraphy research field.
