Professor Tetsuro Majima of Osaka University was invited for an academic visiting by Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He gave a symposium “Single-Molecule Chemistry of Nanocatalysis for Light Energy Conversion” on April 30th 2015. Prof Majima is a famous expert in single-molecular catalysis and super-resolution imaging techniques. He worked as a senior editor of Langmuir of American Chemical Society from 2007 to 2014. Prof Majima has published more 400 papers on the international journals, including Nature chemistry, Nature communications, PNAS, JACS and so on. During the symposium, He introduced some novel fluorescent probes he had synthesized. The position of individual fluorescent products can be determined in several tens nanometers spatial resolution by two-dimensional Gaussian fitting. Prof Majima also precisely answered the questions raised by the researchers of SINANO about the super-resolution imaging techniques. At last, Prof Majima invited us for the attendance of 26th IUPAC International Symposium on Photochemistry in Osaka City of Japan. The symposium will be hosted by IUPAC the on 3th April, 2016.
