On March 24th , a US Delegate comprised of professors from Universities ,NSF and WTECvisited SINANO and gave a lecture on the project they were working on. The delegate arrived China to attend the ‘Nanomodular materials workshop’ held in Fudan University on March 23rd in Shanghai. And they were invited by Prof. Zheng Cui to visit SINANO. Firstly the delegate had a glance at the exhibition hall of SINANO and had a brief impression onits history and research areas. Then they visited the laboratory of PERC(Printable electronics Research Center). Finally was a lecture and discussion with SINANO staff and students. In the discussion, Prof. Pulickel Ajayan introduced the project they were studying, 2D materials beyond grapheme, such as MoS2etc, supported by WTEC(world technology evaluation center). They were investigating various 2D materials, beside the impressive technical performance, what are the major challenges like high manufacturing costs, environment, health, and safety (EHS) concerns, and competing emerging technologies. After their investigation, a report will be generated to NSF( U.S. National Science Foundation) for their reference to sponsor science projects.
