India delegation for TMT visited NIAOT

From April 18th to 22th 2015,India delegation for TMT visited NIAOT,which was composed of Prof. Anamparambu Neelakantan RamaprakasInter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, India,Prof.Annapurni Subramaniam and Dr. SRI PADMANABAN SRIRAM (Indian Institute of Astrophysics) ,Dr. Tripurari Satyanarayana Kumar (Aryabhatta Research Institute of observational sciences). 

Specialists of sino-india conducted discussion on TMT mirror technology and development of instrument. 

During visiting,India delegation gave an introduction of current status and future plan for optical astronomical telescope in India,progress on TMT undertaken by India meanwhile related progress on TMT for NIAOT was also introduced. 

Aften visiting mirror lab,extro-planet detecting lab,spectrograph lab,4-meter polishing machine and iron beam figuring plant,India delegation gave a detail discussion on future cooperation with NIAOT. 

On 20th April,Dr. SRI PADMANABAN SRIRAM gave a lecture on “Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (UVIT) on Astronomical Satellite” in NIAOT.
