On May 15th, Dr. Vincenzo Pecunia from the Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge University, UK, visited Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech & Nano-bionics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SINANO). He was invited by Dr. Jianwen Zhao of Printable Electronics Research Center (PERC) at SINANO.They were met last year at the 5th International Conference on Flexible and Printed Electronics (ICFPE) in Beijing. During his visit to SINANO, Dr. Pecunia gave a talk, titled “Hybrid Metal-oxide/Organic Integration for Complementary Circuits”, which focused on novel integration of self-aligned thin film transistors and hybrid CMOS logic circuits with polymeric gate dielectric. Dr. Pecunia was Professor Henning Sirringhaus’ PhD student and now is working in Prof. Sirringhaus’ group as a postdoctoral researcher. PERC established a link with Prof. Sirringhaus a few years ago when Prof. Zheng Cui, Director of PERC, visited Cavendish Laboratory. Last year, Prof. Sirringhaus visited SINANO when he was in Suzhou. Dr. Pecunia’s recent visit further enhanced the link as both sides are interested in printed TFTs based metal oxide semiconductors. Dr. Pecunia visited PERC’s lab after his talk and showed great interests in PERC’s work. He hoped to collaborate with PERC in future to develop fully-printed flexible CMOS circuits based on complementary semiconductor materials.
