In the morning of August 20th, Professor Atsushi Tackeuchi from Waseda University was invited by Prof. Lu Shu-long from decive department to visit SINANO and gave an academic speech on "resolved studies of carrier and spin dynamics in III-V compound semiconductors Time". The report was hosted by Porf. Lu, and many teachers and students participated in the report. In the report, Prof. Tackeuchi made a detailed introduction to Time-resolved Pump-Probe Technique and Streak-camera Technique in their laboratory. Using different time resolved measurement techniques, they have done a lot of research work on III-V compound semiconductor quantum dot and quantum well structure. In addition, Prof. Tackeuchi also introduced their study on the spin relaxation of the semiconductor materials based on ultrafast time resolved technique. After report, Prof. Tackeuchi carried on an in-depth discussion with participants. Brief introduction of Prof. Tackeuchi: after receiving his master's degrees in Engineering from Osaka University, Prof. Tackeuchi worked as Research Scientist at Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd. from 1985 to 1997. He obtained his PhD from Osaka University in 1992, and worked as Guest Research Scientist at Max-Planck Institut FKF, Stuttgart, Germany from 1992-1993. Prof. Tackeuchi served as Research Scientist at Femtosecond Technology Research Association, Tsukuba in 1996-1997. After that, he went into Waseda University as an Associate Professor. Since the year of 2002, he is currently the Professor in Department of Applied Physics of Waseda University. In September 2014, Prof. Tackeuchi was appointed Dean of School of Advanced Science and Engineering. Prof. Tackeushi engaged in research on ultrafast optical properties and the spin dynamics of compound semiconductor, and published not only more than 100 articles but also dozens of books and reissued many times. In 1992, he was awarded the president prize of Fujitsu Research Institute. In 1993, he got paper awards of Electronic Information Communication Institute and Electrical Association.
