Prof. Arkadiusz Derkowski, the deputy director of the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IGS, PAS), and his colleague, Associate-Prof. Piotr Krzywiec visited NIGPAS in early November 2016.
On behalf of both institutes, Prof. Derkowski and Prof. WANG Xiangdong from NIGPAS signed a Memorandum of Understanding between two institutes, furthering the cooperation on the application of joint programs and graduate student training.
During the visit, Prof. Derkowski introduced the recent situation of the Institute of IGS, PAS, following an academic report on the mineral surface properties in black shale for the researchers. Prof. Krzywiec made an academic presentation on the Precambrian and Paleozoic European borders, and the Mesozoic tectonic sedimentary evolution of basins in Poland.
